Choosing paint colors is extremely important when it comes to your new kitchen.

While choosing colors can be a time-consuming process — you can rest assured that there are certain colors that work best in kitchens. For instance — white, gray, blue, red, yellow, and green really work well.  Each color can do something different for the room.  For the most part, they all create a warm/welcoming space. The warmest colors such as “red” are believed to stimulate the appetite, making it an excellent option for kitchens.  Red is incredibly versatile.  There are also multiple shades that “pop” in a kitchen.  They work on the cabinets or the walls. Seeing as you likely start your day in the kitchen — you need to know that white energizes the room.  It comes off as clean and fresh.  White also allows you to have more fun with your countertops and backsplash.  For those you can choose brighter colors and designs. Gray is a neutral and it’s becoming a popular paint color choice.  With the right shade, it can work wonders to set the mood for your kitchen.  It matches and compliments a wide array of other colors.  It’s the perfect base to build upon in a kitchen.  Gray also makes for a great cabinet or countertop color. Blue is another great color choice.  Lighter shades of blue create a clean and crisp look.  These are recommended for cabinets, walls, and the ceiling.  Blue works best somewhat sparingly.  It can be overwhelming.  Dark blues also work well in kitchens.  The key is to accent the rest of the room with hints of gray, white, or other neutral tones to keep it from feeling too intense and/or dark.

Yellow can instantly brighten up a room.  It’s also believed to make people feel hungry.  It has a soothing quality and it makes people feel happier and calmer.  Yellow can also make rooms feel bigger and it compliments white and gray accents.

Green is also a great kitchen shade.  Apple green and mint shades compliment white and wood accents.  You can also go with an emerald green.  It’s striking and perfect for cabinets, an accent wall, an island or even the floor.

And of course all this depends on your specific tastes and needs.
